Lummen CSIYH Spring Tour

Helen Cruden

We arrived to Lummen for the last two weeks of the CSIYH Spring Tour, taking a full lorry load of horses - 2 for the five year olds, Finn W and Dorin Clover Boy , Keoki for the 6 year olds and 3 for the 7 yr olds, Obos Delightgul, Obama JD and Dakar RS .

All horses had a good show, with the 5 year olds showing exceptional potential at one of the first shows of their career, coming equal first on various days.

Keoki took everything in his stride as he always does, only having one pole in the whole two weeks of competing. We decided not to push him for the time in the 6 year old finals as we placed more emphasis on his ride-ability and his jumping development. He jumped clear on both occasions but incurred one time fault each time.

Dakar RS jumped very well in the 7 year old classes, jumping exceptionally in the 7yr old final of the first week with just a toe in the water.

Obama JD had a very good show, especially during the second week coming 4th in the 7yr old final. Unfortunately the ground wasn’t to his benefit in the third week’s final, when he was drawn as first horse of the day to jump, due to heavy rain falling on very hard ground making the surface very slippery.

Obos Delightful also had a good show jumping clear in the first round of the 7yr old final during the third week with just one pole in the jump off to finish 16th.
