The team kicked off the week in the young horses classes, with Tres Bien Z and Billy Brisk clearing the 6YOs under Graham and Alice, while David rode Jaguar X to another clear in the 7YOs. Thursday saw the team repeat their success in the 6YOs with David and Billy Schweppes leading by example and jumping a beautiful clear, quickly followed by Graham and Billy Brisk jumping their second clear of the week together.
Stepping it up a gear on Friday, David piloted homebred Balloon Cruise to a fantastic 3rd place in the 4* 1.35, and DLS student Alex showed us what she was made of aboard Senators Rhondiago in the Small Tour 1.30 to take 12th place.
Cruising into the weekend, David led the team by example on Balloon Cruise with another clear round in the 4* 1.40 to take 6th place, a massive result for this homebred in her first ever 1.40. Meanwhile Mysoa des Roches Rouges helped David to another clear round in the Big Tour 4* 1.35.
Student riders Tash and Alex Somerville-Cotton put their training into play in the 1* 1.20 and 4* 1.45 respectively, both piloting horses sourced by DLS. Tash and Jirado Van’t Koningshof jumped a lovely clear, and Conan Doyle had just one down with Alex.
David finished the weekend strong with another duo of clears, this time with Starrouge in the Medium Tour 4* 1.40 and Mysoa des Roches Rouges in the 4* 1.35, the former claiming 5th place.
