A kick-off to World Cup Season and a month-long tour in Vilamoura

It was a week of divide and conquer for Team DLS, with Antonia, Annie and Ben setting up in Vilamoura for the month ahead whilst Grace and David headed to Oslo for the start of the World Cup Season.

It was a week of divide and conquer for Team DLS, with Antonia, Annie and Ben setting up in Vilamoura for the month ahead whilst Grace and David headed to Oslo for the start of the World Cup Season.

David saw success on both his rides from day one in Norway. Foudre F stunned in the legendary indoor ring to come 8th in the 5* 1.40 with Equine America Billy Picador finding the 5* 1.50 easy and repeating the 8th place result. The pairing jumped some more fantastic rounds over the weekend in some extremely competitive classes, with Billy Picador just outside of the money in the 5* Grand Prix and Foudre F putting in an exceptional performance for his World Cup debut for a top 20 placing. It has been amazing to jump at the show this week in Oslo and a privilege to be invited to such a prestigious event – roll on Helsinki next week!

Meanwhile, the team in Vilamoura was enjoying soaking up the sun and jumping some terrific rounds to prove it! Antonia and the ever-consistent Balloon Cruise claimed 6th place in the 4* 1.30 to kick off their tour, with Marvin van de Waterhoeve also jumping a clear round in the same class. It is great to have Anna Platt back with us for the tour, starting on TJ Calon Lan with a clear in the 4* 1.30 as well.

Over the weekend, Antonia kept clearing all the sticks to land in 18th with Marvin in the 4* 1.35 on the Saturday and then sped to 9th on the same class with him on the Sunday. Balloon Cruise repeated her result from earlier in the week for a 6th place in the 4* 1.30 and G Star Blue jumped an educational round in the 4* 1.30 for a clear round.

What a great first week to Vilamoura for the team and for David on the World Cup tour. Roll on next week for some more – hopefully – top results!
