David has represented Ireland in Pony, Junior, Young Rider & Senior show jumping teams. He trained with Shane Breen for seven years, not only competing on his own horse, but also producing young horses for Breen Equestrian and assisting with sales, breeding & training.

More recently David has consistently achieved good results at International & National shows, including, winning the J=Hickstead Derby, winning the Queen Elizbeth II Cup for the 2nd time, representing Team Ireland in 5* Nations Cup and World Cup Competitions, and claiming top spot at Horse of the Year Show in the Leading Showjumper of the Year, with the Vitek’s Gentleman VH Heldof.

01. David Simpson

This 2011 Oldenburg stallion is one not to be missed. With many top placings this year alone, including 6th in the 3* at Bolesworth International, 2nd in the 3* 1.35 in Vilamoura and winner of the 8YOs in Villach, Treffen, Carleyle has proven to be a top-class stallion and a temperament to match. With breeding from the legendary Casall line on his Sire’s side and For Pleasure and Contender in the dam line, there are great expectations for this stallion in the future. His siblings are also proven jumpers many of which ranging from 5yr old winners to 5* 1.50m jumpers, just like Carlyle himself. His offspring to date are aged from yearlings to 5yr olds and they are all showing great promise, with a willing attitude and amazing athleticism. Carleyle’s most recent success saw him finish 5th in 4* 1.50 in Warsaw with David Simpson and 7th in his first 5* debut at Royal Windsor. As always, he showed a great attitude in the ring making both rounds look effortless. Carleyle offers both the power and technique of a great competition horse, along with a cool and calm attitude on the ground. These characteristics will be the perfect addition to the next string of top Showjumpers.
